A variety of factors ranging from the negative impact of western pharmaceutical products to a search for cost efficient healthcare, which have contributed to a growing interest in this sector of health services.
The study of specialization in alternative medicine and the desire to make a career choice in this field is rapidly increasing. Recognition of a particular specialization in alternative medicine as complementary to allopathic treatment is leading to a greater need to prepare well-trained practitioners in the respective areas of alternative medicine.
Consequently, there is an imminent need to ensure high standards of skills development for the alternative medicine practitioner and quality care and safety for the consumer.
